Soy-Free Glazed Salmon

Crispy on the outside, tender within, coated in a sweet-savory glaze with full umami flavor and zero soy

Ingredients (serves 2)

2 salmon fillets (about 5 oz each), skin on or off
2 tablespoons No Soy sauce (or regular soy sauce if preferred)
1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
1 teaspoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon vegetable oil (for searing)

Optional & Garnish:

1 teaspoon grated ginger (for a spicier kick)
1 green onion, chopped
1 teaspoon sesame seeds

How to make it

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together No Soy sauce, maple syrup or honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger (if using). Set aside.

  2. Pat the salmon dry and lightly season with salt if desired. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the salmon skin-side down (if skin-on) and sear for 3–4 minutes.

  3. Flip the salmon and pour the glaze over it. Continue cooking for 2–3 minutes, spooning the sauce over the fillets until the glaze thickens and the salmon is fully cooked.

  4. Plate the salmon over a bowl of rice, noodles, or greens. Garnish with chopped green onion and sesame seeds.
